Alex Rodriguez sues MLB
Updated: October 4, 2013, 11:17 AM ET ESPN.com news services

Alex Rodriguez is suing Major League Baseball, accusing the entity of interfering with his contracts and business relationships.

Rodriguez, who has been attending grievance hearings related to the 211-game suspension MLB handed down in August, claims in the lawsuit that baseball bought the cooperation of the chief witness against him. The Rodriguez camp alleges that Anthony Bosch, the head of the clinic at the heart of the recent performance-enhancing drug scandal, has been paid $5 million by MLB to help force Rodriguez out of the game, according to the Times.

MLB commissioner Bud Selig was named a defendant in the suit, but the New York Yankees, who would stand to save substantial money if Rodriguez were suspended, were not named.

I hate the guy, but he admitted to use and had no responsibility to expose himself any further. He's pretty much being extorted by the MLB.

NY Post

-- There’s a court battle brewing between Alex Rodriguez and Major League Baseball — over which court to slug it out.

Jordan Siev, a lawyer for the Yankees star, notified Manhattan federal Judge Lorna Schofield Friday that A-Rod’s legal team wants to move his lawsuit — which claims MLB and Commissioner Bud Selig are on “witch hunt” to force him out of baseball — back to where it was originally filed, in Manhattan Supreme Court.

His motion would challenge one that MLB filed three weeks ago, which moved the case to federal court, where judges historically are tougher.

I hate him, and I don't think he'll end up winning this, but good for him to not just giving up. I do believe to an extent that the MLB is trying to get him out of the league. He's one of the faces of Steroids, and already having admitted to it once, when something else comes up, it's hard to believe he was wronged and didn't do the same thing again. He doesn't have the trust of the MLB, and I think it's beyond repair.
