http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3206516With Andrew Bynum and Chris Mihm already out for the Lakers, L.A.'s front court took another hit.
Forward Trevor Ariza, acquired from Orlando on Nov. 20, fractured a bone in his right foot during practice Sunday.
Ariza, who was averaging 5.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 35 games so far this season, will meet with a foot specialist to determine the extent of the injury and place a timetable for his return to the Lakers' lineup.
The Lakers expect Kwame Brown to play more minutes in Ariza's absence, including in Monday night's game against the Denver Nuggets.
"It's not about his one-on-one defense. It's his team defense that [Denver's Marcus] Camby's renowned for," Lakers coach Phil Jackson told The Los Angeles Times. "We're definitely going to go in to Kwame against Camby. His size and his power against him is obviously a strength that we have."
The Lakers are currently 26-12 this season, good for the fifth-best record in the Western Conference.
Another key player injured, hopefully not too long...
