Anthony Bennett Reportedly on the Trade Block Again

The Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly made the 22-year-old big man available with the NBA Draft looming this week.

ESPN sources say that, in advance of Thursday's draft, Minnesota has made former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett available via trade

1:40 PM - 22 Jun 2015

The former top pick averaged 5.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 57 games last season.
Per the Star Tribune:
Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 draft, has had two largely disappointing seasons in the NBA. The first with Cleveland was bad enough that the Cavs were willing to give him up after just one season as part of last summer’s blockbuster trade with the Wolves that also sent Andrew Wiggins to Minnesota in exchange for Kevin Love.

Bennett was either injured or ineffective for much of his year in Minnesota. And now it appears the Wolves are ready to move on from him just as quickly as Cleveland was.

Though it’s not terribly surprising that the Wolves would reportedly consider trading him, it does send a pretty clear signal that at least that portion of last summer’s trade — the part that was going to be the wild card from the start — has not worked out how Minnesota had hoped.

Such a bust. Feel bad for him though, cause the dude was projected at like 7-10 hah.

Ineffective is a bit harsh--the dude barely got minutes. He's more than solid and if given time to develop a rhythm he'd be fine. He excels in the preseason for a reason. He gets minutes. Which team lands him and plays him? It's that simple. The Wolves ought to start him at the 4 with Towns/Okafor at center, bring Dieng off the bench unless he really rises this season.

Generally you don't get minutes when you're ineffective
