Because I used to love this debate last year...
A recent Arizona Republic article claims the city of Glendale is pulling out all the stops on assisting Jamison on purchasing the team.
As it stands right now, the city of Glendale is facing a $35 million budget shortfall...mostly thanks to the $25 million they owe the NHL in operating expenses, most of which are associated with Jobing.com Arena. It has been estimated $17 million is required to operate the arena for the 2012-13 season and the city is pledging that amount to Jamison and w/e amount of investors he hopes to bring into the deal.
So basically the numbers still don't add up and I think it's safe to say Quebecor's money is looking that much greener right about now.
