-Yahoo!OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)—Golden State center Andris Biedrins is out indefinitely after undergoing an appendectomy Thursday night.
Biedrins, a four-year pro from Latvia who leads the NBA in field goal percentage (62.2), missed his first game of the season when the Warriors hosted Atlanta on Friday night. The team said it had no timetable for his return, but Biedrins is expected to miss at least one week.
He had started 41 of Golden State’s first 54 games, averaging 10.3 points and a team-leading 9.7 rebounds. Biedrins, who also leads the Warriors in blocked shots, hadn’t missed a game since April 8, 2006.
