http://thesixersense.com/2014/05/29/michael-carter-williams-dante-exum/In the recent weeks and especially today there has been news about the Sixers possibly trading off MCW and the 10th pick to move up in the draft for my boy Dante. I gotta saywhen I first heard it, I laughed at the idea.
Look, the 76ers have a rare talent in MCW. Hes tall, long, quick, and can do many things on the court. He can score, pass, defend, rebound, and just flat out play ball. And Im speaking from a rookie standpoint. Obviously hes no star, but one can say hes going to be one.
What about Dante? Well, Nelson Exum hasnt been in the public eye as much. Okaylet me rephrase that. He hasnt been in the NBA public eye that much. Obviously, people have seen him play. No, Im not talking about YouTube. Im talking about his fellow Aussies.
What makes me feel comfortable with Dante is that Brett Brown has coached him before. Granted, this was years ago, and Dantes game may have changed greatly since then. But, still, in the NBA world, Brown knows Dante Exum as much as anybody else. The history is there.
So, if the Sixers went with Exum, I would be comfortable with it. I would trust that Brown would know what hes got and what hes working with. And Sam Hinkie hasnt screwed up yet, nor has given me a reason to believe that he will. If the Sixers want Exum, Ill tag along.
I want Exum on the Sixers. But, is it right?
