The Offense

QB Johnny Unitas

VERY VERY Debatable why did I put Unitas on here instead of Peyton? Lets see.

He was a more clutch QB I am not saying Peyton isn't, but to compare him to Unitas in this category is funny Manning has been very clutch in his career, but he also didn't come up in some situations early in his career.

Throughout his entire career he has come through besides the 1964 Championship, but everyone has bad games Unitas had less bad games than Peyton did in the playoffs (he played like <Censored> in the 02 Jets game and the early games vs the Pats).

He truly revolutionized the QB position.

RB Edgerrin James

I know it seems silly to put Edge over 2 Hall of Fame and a future Hall of Fame back, but Dickerson and Faulk had their best years with the Rams, and Lenny Moore didn't put up the number the Edge did.

WR Marvin Harrison

This is another easy pick an All Time great who is one of the best route runners of all time.

He had amazing hands too and great chemistry with Peyton Manning he is a Hall of Fame player.

WR Raymond Berry

Soft hands, great route runner, and a hard worker.

Unitas to Berry was one of the great passing combination's of all time.

When Unitas was driving the Colts in the 1958 Championship game who did he go to? That's right Raymond Berry all day.

TE John Mackey

Hall of Famer, strong, fast, great blocker.

Arguably the best tight end to ever play football, he changed the position.

He came up huge in big games won a Championship and his run vs the Lions where he broke 9 tackles is the most insane thing I have ever seen.

I'll do the O Line and the Defense later on.

Its still the Colts though.

Thats like not counting the history of the Los Angeles Raiders in the mix of the Oakland Raiders.

More or less spot on here. Good work. I'm not gonna argue with U and Peyton, I didn't get to see one of them play.. It would be not logical for me to sit here and say who is better, growing up with one, and not seeing much footage of U.

I agree with this. What Peyton has been able to do is amazing, we just don't value it as so, because he is still in the prime of his career. It's easier to look back and go "wow that guy was great" then say that as it's happening.

I wouldn't say Peyton's the best QB of all-time, but his football IQ is ridiculously high, something we've never seen this high before.

I have to agree with you at every position but one. Guess which one? Haha.

Touche for knowing the Colts enough to throw Raymond Berry and John Mackey in there. Reggie Wayne might end his career with numbers worthy of an All-Colts Team but his lack of effort in the Superbowl have him on my shlt list for the most part lol.

I love Unitas for a number of reasons. I believe he was the greatest Quarterback Pre-Marino in NFL History. Like you said... he really revolutionized the way a Quarterback can be used. He truly started the "Analyze" and "Check down" system of progression at the postion. Prior to that Passes tended to be as a means to keep the defense honest.

My thing with Manning... and I try to have a birds eye view and not let my love for Manning take over... is the fact that he has literally done about as much as you possibly can. People like to put stock into "decisions" and "Clutch" and "Superbowls". When it comes down to it... we all know this is a team sport and Peyton Manning has done more with the talent at his disposal as anyone I have ever heard of. He gets blamed for many things like having less rings than Brady or not being clutch like Joe Montana but I honestly believe that there are things outside of his control that plays a part.

He literally is the smartest, most prepared and most efficient QB in history. I can't say I believe many of the Colts players who have played with him in the past would have been as good without Manning. He's made everyone around him better.

I'm not sure why I am sharing this. We all know this haha.

I'd take Manning over Unitas because it's hard not to take who I think is the greatest quarterback to ever play.
