If the lockout ever ends, Arron Afflalo would likely have a big role with the Nuggets this season.

With Wilson Chandler playing in China without a buyout clause, and J.R. Smith an unrestricted free agent, the starting shooting guard job would be all about Afflalo. He's a restricted free agent, but is expected to be re-signed by the Nuggets. The only problem with all of this is that there's a decent chance the Nuggets won't play a game this season.

Afflalo has had bigger and bigger roles each season since he was dealt from Detroit to Denver. That being said, I'm not sure that he has the offensive talent to step up and be a #2 or #3 scorer, but defensively you can count on him to step his game up. How do you guys see Afflalo performing this season? Will he step up offensively as well?

Thoughts?

I kinda see this turning out to be like a poor man's Chauncey Billups. But Afflalo is my dude so I wish he would have a nice role in that system and they'll give him the ball for more looks outside the arc.

I think he will keep getting better. He had a good year last year, I think he can be more consistent this year.

I wonder if this is another sign towards Chandler not coming back after this season (if there is a season)

theyll need a scorer off the bench to back him up. but defense makes him a solid starter.

I think what we saw last year is about what we'll see from him for his career.
