adding fonts

i've been told a couple times about how to add fonts onto my laptop. but i just cannot do it. the last time i had a message pop up, i don't remember what it said exactly just somthing like your blah blah blah doesn't support this type of file or somthing. anybody know whats wrong? can someone give me some help? thanks!

Well the easiest way I can tell you to do it is find the folder labeled Fonts and put the font file inside of it either as a zip file or just the font file. If you're using a zip file just unzip inside the folder and it'll install the fonts.

fonts labeled under your hard drive.. normally C:WINDOWS/fonts

you place the unzipped or unrar'd file in there -- when downloading, I normally put them onto my desktop then copy and paste into that folder

Mex taught me this a while back. download the font you want, open the font file, go to control panel go to fonts, (its usually on the left side where it says see also) open it.
now go abck to the font file that you downloaded. Extract it if you have to, and then drag that file to your My fonts..

I dont think i explained right though...
