I will refrain from calling him
because of his own personal rule that only family and 'on the field' is that nickname permitted.
Regardless, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell re-instated Adam Jones today, clearing him to fully participate in the Dallas Cowboys regular season.
You all know the story.
What I find fascinating is how easy it was for Jones to transform from "mischievous gangster" to "NFL golden child". 'Hats off' to Roger Goodell for making an example out of Jones. A guy wants to take all that NFL money and live the life of a criminal...okay...you won't play and you won't get paid.
I live by the rule that "you can take the thug off the street, but you can't take the street out of the thug". I am not buying Jones' new self-righteousness but he is now forced to live the good Christian life and one slip up means Goodell will cut his balls off once again...most likely for good next time.
We will see. I am still loving the fact that Adam Jones, Tank Johnson, and Terrell Owens are all on the same team. "America's Team"...my ass.
Lot's to look forward for Cowboys' fans in 2008. T.O. is talkin' the sh*t, doing the sit-ups in his driveway, Don Imus has Jones' back, and you know Tank is packing the heat. You never know but if we wait long enough, Nate Newton might pull up in a minivan packed with 66 pounds of weed. Boy is life in "Big D" too sweet. -AE
