so basically we need to scour the internet looking for a statistic that shows % of at bats where the ball was put in play.

You act as if Sabathia approaches Santiago the same exact way had Jackson struck out or not gotten on base.
The fact he would of been on 1st doesn't mean the same series of events occur.

He said he's a contact hitter, not an AVG hitter. He puts the ball in play, he doesn't strike out. Big difference.

How do you know what he throws is the better question? Considering you think Santiago gets that hit with Inge on first is a given.
