KC Joyner/ESPN - The cornerback tandem of Brent Grimes and Dunta Robinson graded out as the NFL's best cornerback tandem.

KC Joyner had six metrics where he graded the Jets (Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie), Eagles (Nnamdi Asomugha and Asante Samuel), Dolphins (Vontae Davis and Sean Smith), Packers (Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson), Chiefs (Brandon Carr and Brandon Flowers), Chargers (Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer) and Falcons.

The Falcons came in first in terms of overall points from the six categories with 40, followed by the Jets, Eagles, Chargers, Packers, Chiefs and Dolphins

Fuck Insider articles. Either way, for Revis and Cro to rate 2nd in whatever his stupid metrics were is pretty telling considering Revis didn't even play well until later in the season.

Nothing more than another ego stroke for ESPN. Means nothing, and it's wrong... nothing to see here.

I don't think Grimes is overrated, he's underrated if anything.
Lol ya. Grimes is definitely not overrated. The general NFL fan probably has no clue who the hell he even is. Well maybe not after he made the Pro Bowl, but he's still not overrated.

I don't see how Robinson is overrated either. Nobody considers him an elite CB. He's a good player. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Falcons have a good starting CB tandem. The best? Probably not, but I don't think they're THAT far off. The problem with their CB's has been in the nickel/dime. Hopefully the addition of Hayden will help.

What would you say if I told you Dunta had stats identical to "Crisp" Houston last season?

I'd say that a guy making nearly 10M a season but he can't put up elite numbers playing the right corner position is a disappointment.

wow, this is surprising. Being a falcons fan and knowing how frustrating our secondary has been over the years, and yet they say we have the best tandem? lol @ ESPN
Grimes isnt overrated, dudes a fucking beast
Dunta was injured for a while last year, so maybe we'll see the better of him this year
i think we have a good tandem, but I wouldnt say the best (not yet)
still a WIP if you ask me

KC Joyner is the worst writer at ESPN. Biggest moron around. He's always making these dumb calculations. He's the worst. Pisses me off.

Statistically, like I have proven, Asante Samuel is the best corner in all of football. Pair that with Nnamdi? Light's the fuck out.

You realize Houston actually was pretty good last season, right?

You never actually proved it, you posted some random numbers and claimed it.

I don't know if I'd say giving up a 60% completion rate, 542 yards, 3 TD's, and a 85.5 QB rating is pretty good.

Those are 'pretty good' metrics in my book. Holding WR's to around 35 yards a game as the best CB in a poor secondary.

Robinson is not overrated though. Most people don't think he's an elite CB. He's a good/above average CB. Wouldn't you agree with that? The only reason you think he's overrated is because of his contract. Does his play match his contract? No, but his impact on the secondary can't be seen on the stat sheet. Regardless, how much he's being paid shouldn't be factored into overrated/underrated.

I'd say what people think about Dunta doesn't really matter, but the Falcons thinking highly enough of him last season to sign him to a 57M dollar deal at almost 9.5M a year says something.

He isn't worth anywhere near that.
