The Nashville Tennessean's Jim Wyatt does not expect Chris Johnson to report to Titans' training camp without a new contract.
Wyatt said in a tweet that Johnson was "still being politically correct" when asked about his contract situation on Saturday, but does not expect him to report this year without a new deal. After settling for a small raise last summer, Johnson, who is currently set to make a base salary of $800,000 in 2011, said he would seek a "history deal" this year. It sounds like that is indeed still his plan.

This deal is going to be really interesting. I always knew Chris Johnson is a clown, so it's no damn shock that he would go out and seek to get all the attention, and then a big fat new deal.

He loves the attention. Lot of guys do. But he's surely one of them.

Chris Johnson can say what he wants. Im not so sure that he will get a extension at this point.

It's amazing to think that this team has two playmakers on offense. Kenny Britt and CJ. Both are morons.

I'll give you Britt, but what has CJ done other than having a heavy "accent" (IDK what else to call it)?
And sure, he's worth it. He has not had any help from the passing game his whole career and still puts of top 5 numbers.
If we lost him, we'd be done. And guys, he wanted the history deal of his 2K season. The Titans O-Line was atrocious last year, it wasnt all CJ.

You know this how? Have you talked to him personally?
I've read a ton of article where people from East Carolina said he was the nicest down the earth guy ever.
Either way, I don't get how that comes up in contract talks..it's not like he gets in trouble off the field so let him be.

Ummm how exactly do you see more NFL than me?
Because you have fake ass ESPN?
Yeah, right.

And who gives a fuck anyways. As long as he's not in trouble with the law, cool story bro.
IDGAF if he's a dick. He can play football, and that's the point of the thread. Contract talks. I don't see why you guys brought this in here.

How isn't he an arrogant prick?
Two holdouts in two years?
Does this dude really need the type of money he is making to begin with?
Who cares if he gets injured and his career is over, or his shelf life. He has already made enough money to be set for life, if he hasn't spent his money like a fucking moron.

So don't give me that shit that he isn't an arrogant prick for holding out and demanding "history deals."

And no I've never met him, but you don't have to meet the guy to know he is an arrogant prick.

CJ played this all pretty stupidly. When he had his contract restructured last year, they shaved some money off the back end of his contract, and put it on the front end. Now he's crying because he's underpaid.

That being said, he does deserve a new deal. Rookie contracts have nothing to do with how good of a player you are, they are based on where you are drafted. CJ was drafted in the late first, and he has absolutely outplayed that contract.

I don't see how any of this makes him an arrogant prick though. He's not lobbying for a new contract through the media. Most of this shit is spun by the media to make it sound that way.

Yep.
I agree with all that.

And no Rip lol.
He technically hasn't held out 2 years in a row. Haven't you heard of the 30% rule? He didn't get the deal he wanted. He settled because the NFL is fucking stupid. He was set for life? He maybe had a million. His contract was $500,000 for his first 2 years. A million is good for retirement lol. Not life.

I'm not saying I wouldn't aha.
But coming off a 2K yard year, making $500,000 (with $332,000 being the league minimum) compared to guys like Peterson and Jones-Drew, he was under paid.
