NFL.comA woman stabbed Brandon Marshall with a knife, and the Miami Dolphins' wide receiver was admitted to intensive care in a South Florida hospital, ESPN reported, citing two league sources
According to the Broward County Sheriff's Department, Michi Nogami-Marshall was arrested on one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon at 1 a.m. Saturday.
A team source told Jay Glazer of NFL Network and FOX Sports that doctors have informed the Dolphins that Marshall isn't in imminent danger at this point. A source close to the situation told ESPN that Marshall is "going to be OK."
Marshall's agent, Kennard McGuire, and lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, issued the following statement: "This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family, thankfully he will make a full recovery, we simply ask that his privacy is respected."
The ongoing NFL lockout prohibits contact between team official and players. However, in this case, the league said the team doctor can see Marshall. The doctor and team trainer can consult with Marshall's doctors, and the Dolphins "can send well wishes or other types of appropriate expressions of support", according to the league.
Marshall joined the Dolphins last year in a trade with the Denver Broncos, then signed a four-year, $47.5 million contract. He led Miami in receptions (86) and receiving yards (1,014) last season.
Marshall made the Pro Bowl in 2008 and 2009 with the Broncos, who selected him out of Central Florida in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He also has a history of trouble both on and off the field, leading to his departure from Denver.
Wow, good news that he should be OK, but his wife is a crazy bitch.
