Best 1-2 Pitching Duo?

Which do you think the best pitching duo is? Trying to create some debates here.

Philadelphia Phillies - Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee

San Francisco Giants - Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain

Boston Red Sox - Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz

St. Louis Cardinals - Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright

Milwaukee Brewers - Zack Greinke and Yovani Gallardo

For me it's tough between the Phillies' Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay and the Giants' Tim Luncecum and Matt Cain, but I have to give the Phillies the edge. Halladay is simply the best pitcher in baseball right now, and adding Lee makes it look even more scarier. Yes I have said Lee didn't have his best year last year, but I still have to give the edge to two recent Cy Young Winners.

of this list, i'll take Halladay/Lee. hard to find a reason to give it to someone else

Halladay and Lee for me but Lince & Cain are a close secound. Halladay is almost unhittable. I wish he could of got a no hitter with the Jays.

Kershaw and Billingsly isnt on the radar yet, but they will be this upcoming season no doubt.

Yeah I actually considered but them on, but they aren't as established as the others.

But Halladay isn't the best pitcher in baseball IMO, it's Felix Hernandez.

Im gonna have to go with Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz. They are very young and talented and Lester already has a ring and closed out a World Series. Clay is a monster and I see him developing just as much as Lester in the upcoming years. Clay showed that he can be a workhorse and he had an amazing year last year which I see him building upon even more.

If I had to decide who i'd want for my team, I'd want Lincecum and Cain due to age but Halladay and Lee for the short term.

Greinke is so overrated its really not at all funny how people are ready to bow down to the Brewers with their newfound Ace thats had a good year and a half of baseball while being around the average to slightly above average the rest of the time.

I'd say Halladay and Lee no question. Call me a homer for saying this but i'd add Verlander/Scherzer. They aren't as high on the radar, but they aren't guys to shake your head at. They aren't the best duo in the league, i'd put them in the Top 10, but they are worth the mention.

If you sort them by how good they were last year in the regular season (knowing that most didn't reach the playoffs on this list), this is how it goes:

STL
PHI
BOS
SF
MIL

I would not take MIL in any of the possible situations
if you need a WS win, you pick Philly obviously
if you want a Cy Young Award, you pick SF
if you want these two for the longhaul; the future, you pick the Sox
if you want only the regular season, it's the Cards

Scherzer needs more experience before you really can

Same is with Andrew Bailey and Gio Gonzalez in OAK

IMO I would take Price and Shields over Verlander and Scherzer
