According to a report on BallinEurope.com, the injury to LeBron James' right elbow is "way worse than is generally known" and the Cavs' superstar should not be playing in his present condition.

"A source close to the Cleveland Cavaliers who wished to remain anonymous has admitted that LeBron James should not [be] playing with his injury in its current state," the report reads. "Apparently, the damage is enough that the right arm of King James ... is having great difficulty in carrying anything heavier than a basketball."

The report is from an affiliate of ESPN's TrueHoop Network but cannot be independently verified.

But it wasn't hurting enough for him to go across the court and block Tony Allen's layup?

I understand they were different times but, still, just odd.

defense is nature, you almost never lose the ability to lock someone down. its all mental, well pretty close. but shooting is something where an ankle/wrist/elbow injury will be affected. either he'll adjust(which i know he will) or hes going to just attack and attack some more.

this could show how much he really wants to win, if the injury is in fact that bad.

Maybe they should've let him rest a lot during the game the Cavs were winning the series 3-0 against the Bulls. Maybe not rest but play to a minimum.

He played the worst game of his career in game 2.. It's obviously bothering him a lot.

We played on Monday, we're not playing until Friday.. If he's not any better by then, he's not going to get better until the off-season.

LeBron James said Thursday that his injured right elbow feels better, but it won't be completely healed until after the season.

"I've got to play with it," he said.

James made it through a complete practice on Thursday without the elbow "flaring up" as the team got their final workout in before traveling to Boston for Game 3 of their semifinal series.

A second MRI has been canceled, but the two-time MVP said doctors have told him his injury, diagnosed as a sprain and bone bruise, isn't going away anytime soon.

"It could be a recurring thing through the whole playoffs," he said. "If we continue to win and continue to be in the playoffs it could be a recurrence, and it may not be better until the offseason."

At practice on Wednesday, LeBron James seemed to hint that his elbow injury is more severe than he has acknowledged. "The elbow is an issue I'll deal with in the offseason," James said.

James also addressed criticism that the Cavs did not give enough effort in Game 5. "Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't. But you can't question the effort we had," James said.

"We tried to do the things we wanted to do with the gameplan that was given to us but it just didn't work," he added.

A medical professional close to LeBron James is suggesting James is suffering from a torn ligament in his right elbow, according to a report from Fear The Sword.

"Lebron has a torn ligament in his elbow that should keep him out 6 to 8 weeks," said the source. "He's trying to play through it and not complain, so the media doesn't know it's that serious. Before game 4 he had a shot in the elbow to numb it. You can only get the shot once every 10 days, so last night he couldn't do it."

Damn that certainly sucks. Guess he had reason to not show up last night.

Oh well, bad timing for the Cavs.
