And the full terms aren't out on the deal, the last 2 years could be player options, we'll have to wait and see.

He doesn't want to be a full time backup, and whatever team gets him will overpay for him if he's on the bench. And Utah plans on trading or just letting Boozer walk so Paul can start next season(or in 2010). So that means you guys will be overpaying him if Utah doesn't match.

Sources say Millsap has told the Blazers he would be amicable to playing behind LaMarcus Aldridge, the Blazers' returning power forward and one of the franchise's cornerstones

Might really depend on how bad Utah wants to keep Millsap, do they match the offer and pay the luxury tax? Or do they let him walk and face the possibility of Boozer bolting next year...

Either way if this happens then that just leaves OKC as a possible destination for Lee. And they dont seem like they're too interested in investing 10+mil in him. So that would guarentee Lee would either be on the Knicks next year or a S&T.

Im happy with either.

Well duh, if your going to get a $10 Million contract thrown your way you wouldn't say I don't want to be a backup. Ben Gordon has already said the samething. It's complete bull, no way in hell any player wants to be a career backup. But like I said you won't tell any GM's that if your going to get a huge deal.

If they do indeed let Millsap walk, they will extend Boozer for sure later this season.

I've already posted about him before, but I'm at this Cavs forum, and someone who works for the Cavs posts there, with information on what goes on, possible trades, FA signings etc, and this is what he said about the AV signing.

when i heard the news on the length and amount of this contract, i felt as if i could throw up on the spot. i've never been a huge fan of andy's game, unlike w/g. who happens to love the kid's game and thinks he's one of the most underrated bigs in the league.

we've bickered over av for three years. he loves intangibles guys like andy, and i see them as beneficial during certain times, but in money games their talents get neutralized.

of course, i've had people here since i've said these things throw figures at me that refute that claim of mine, so , take it for what it's worth.

but, i called w/g and wanted to get his feeling and pass them along immediately. and he had some very interesting comments. having been in on some post season evaluations and talks, he knew what the parameters were going to be on a deal, and he's very interested in talking to ferry actually.

he thinks the length of the contract is key, because he thinks it most likely was structured to fit strategically with the parameters of what they are negotiating with lbj's people now, on his extension.

that's right. that's exactly how he put it.

i said, are you saying that theyc are in contract talks with lbj as we speak, and he said, that is what is in the plans. he said that they wouldn't have structured this contract in this way, with this many years and at this amount unless they were doing so with the pre-knowledge of what the lbj contract extension will be coming in at in terms of years, and structure.

he also said that av likely knows what is going on as well. lbj and av are very close and work well together. lbj wanted av signed, and so did gilbert who loves av.

so, this was the most interesting news that w/g has passed along for me to pass on to you guys since he's been gone.

i asked him if this means we might be getting an announcment on an lbj extension this offsesason or before the start of next season, and said he wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that's the reality.. especially given the warnngs put out yesterdsay about the cap issues for coming years.

he thinks this is a great sign on many levels regarding the status of lebron longterm in cleveland. likely for the same timeframe as av's contract.

he says it would have to be somewhere in that length because that would be the strategic aspects of structuring andy's in this way.

i don't undrstand these things at all. as far as contracts go. but, rcf seems to have alot of people that DO know how these things work in accordance with cap rules and regulations.

so, hopefully they can chip in and explain the technicalities of what w/g is alluding to.

thought this might be some good news to go along with what seems to me to be a major overspend for the level of talent that av is.
Don't know what to make of it, but if this is what gets LBJ to sign an extension, then I don't' care about AV's contract.

This is premature... but just to let you know.... Afflalo will likely be traded to Dallas in a sign and trade for brandon bass.... since we are about 2 mill under the cap we can add afflalo's contract, and a 125% to make bass a good starting salary and long-term deal.... He is the same height as McDyess.... and built tough.
Got this from the Pistons Forum on RealGM. The kid has no source, I'm iffy on believing it but still gets me thinking.

Well I his agent said he's deciding between the Magic, Blazers, or Pistons so I'm not sure how legit that source is.

This was recently posted on RealGM, the article about his three choices came out earlier today. Who's to say he didn't agree in the 6 hours between these two "stories"?

Hopefully the Cavs can pick up Channing Frye, we'd have a nice rotation with Shaq-AV-Z-Frye. Pretty deep there if you ask me.

I hope we snag Frye, always liked him. Plus he's about 7 foot and can play PF/C for us and log some heavy minutes.

I want Frye more than Bass as well :/

I hope we don't trade AA for Bass though. I love Afflalo.

I knew we were going to lose Sheed, but he just had to go to Boston, but we also lost Dyess, which I thought we might`ve been able to keep, and he went to the Spurs. They just had to go to two of the teams I dislike. lol.

honestly, a lot of players are deciding to go to legit teams this year. it's like sorta unfair to all the other teams that really need the help. haha
