James listed New York as his favorite city Monday (his hometown of Akron, Ohio came in fifth behind Washington D.C., Dallas, and Los Angeles) as he took part in a one-day USA Basketball media blitz, and he also gave an answer to a follow-up question that'll make Knicks president Donnie Walsh and head coach Mike D'Antoni cringe.

"My favorite borough? Brooklyn," James said, choosing the proposed future home of the New Jersey Nets over the borough of Manhattan, where the Knicks play their home games. "Brooklyn is definitely a great place here in New York City, and some of my best friends are from Brooklyn, so I stick up for them."

I was watching ESPN last night and Stephen A. Smith was talking about this.

He was talking about how much LeBron loved Brooklyn and the "inevitability" of him leaving Cleveland for Brooklyn. I can see it happening, and I think its going to happen.

He also talked about how LeBron's decision could effect Wade's decision to leave Miami and come to the Knicks.

He said their Marketability were going to be motivating factors.

Smith is one if not the only "expert" on ESPN I listen to.... I hope he gets this one right.

On another note if LeBron waits till 2011 to become a FA the Knicks will be able to offer him the max.

Haven't we known he loves New York for the past 3 years? First off, if he leaves Cleveland, he'd go to Brooklyn/New Jersey to play with the Nets. The only reason people say he'd play for New York is because of a big market. He'd get that and be able to play for Jay-Z's team with the Nets. He'll either be playing for the Cavs or Nets in 2010.

Also LeBron wont be signing a long term deal wherever he goes. He'll sign a 3 year deal, he doesn't like to commit to a team, he wants to basically evaluate the team, and if they don't make strides in the 3 years he's there, he'll test the free agent market.

I still really believe he is going to stay, a loud mouth New York Analyst on ESPN is not going to change my opinion. Obviously if we don't get better, he won't stay, but theres people who say he'll leave if the Cavaliers have not won a championship by 2010, which I think is extremely dumb. If the team can contend every year he is here, I don't see him leaving.

Your right, but if he decides not to opt out in 2010, that still leaves 2011.

When he becomes a unrestricted FA, and then it wont be much the Cavs can do, Im not sure what their CAP situation would look like in 2011, but we'll be able to offer the Max.

And going to a team with a rich past, thats offering you as much as you can get, plus the opportunity to become even more of a superstar b/c of his playing in NY, whether its Brooklyn or Manhattan, seems like it would be more alluring.

Right now West looks to be a good promising player, he was our 2nd best player in the playoffs. I have no idea what happened to Wally, he should be able to get his shot back and if he does thats 15-20 ppg right there with all the open looks he'll get.

The Cavaliers have bird years on him.. They can offer more money then anyone. The a bird max is much more then a regular max given by another team.

Last year you guys went to the Finals, this year you were eliminated in the 2nd round. And at that time Boston was "beatable" Wallace isnt what he once was, Wally isnt what he was, and Delonte is a good player. But I dont think he'll get too much better then what he is now, he would be the perfect backup PG. But he isnt going to help lead Cleveland to a championship.

Regardless of his family, he has shown/hinted at wanting to be in a bigger market. With the money he'll be making he would be able to move em all out of Ohio. Plus, he's from Akron, so its not like he dedicated to Cleveland.

I dont think he's coming to the Knicks, but I dont think he'll stay in Cleveland.

this is total bogus as you have no clue what's going to happen in 2 years... as of right now, CLE has chance at title, while the NYK and NJN are nowhere close

Cleveland would be the worst team in the league w/o LeBron. Add him to either one of those teams along with his playmaking ability and both the Knicks and Nets would be contenders, even more so then the Cavs. Anyone who would disagree is crazy.

I dont have a clue what will happen in 2 years, but Im sure the Cavs would try to lock him up before 2010, right? so we should see some kind of extension if he's as commited as you guys are saying...

Well, I haven't seen much of Crawford outside of last year, and thats because he really wasn't that good until he was a #1 option. He is just too wild of a player I would want as a 2nd option but thats just me.

Our GM is Danny Ferry, I don't know why he still has a job but thats just me. I don't know how you can see that trade did not make us better.. It gave us the 2nd best defensive team in the league behind the Celtics, if not better then the Celtics defensively. Wallace is still a very good defender, who can rebound extremely well. Wally was meant to come in to Cleveland and actually make shots but I guess he decided not to for whatever reason. West is still young with room to grow, he has a very nice shot and great ball handling skills. Also you forget we got Joe Smith, he's not a huge name but he is basically a better version of Drew Gooden and scored off the bench for us consistently.

The point Im trying to get across is that it isnt crazy to think he will leave Cleveland.

Unless they get him some real help, a player that he can count on to score, and make big plays, he will probably leave. I understand he's from Ohio, and that his family is there. But he doesnt owe Cleveland anything.

Though the Cavs are contenders with him, it isnt hard to imagine what he could do with a better team. Yes you guys were the #2 defensive team, but you struggle to score. And you need a good mix of both to be a serious contender. Now be honest what looks better

What team would YOU consider better, I say the Knicks, not just b/c Im a fan. But its obvious. More scoring options, more help and D'Antoni's offense. Obviously you guys are better defensively but I think its a no-brainer

If LeBron leaves, he'll go to the Nets imo.

He has the connection with Jay-Z and he has the marketability there. I'd rather see him go to the Knicks.
