AE is Moving

Just a reminder that I will be packing up and moving from Upstate NY to Ft. Dix, NJ. A 1-year state-side deployment courtesy of the US Army Reserve. Yours truly is now an Instructor for the Army's Regional Training Center East. A school where my fellow reservists and national guardsmen being sent overseas will spend 22 days freshening up on combat skills prior to landing in the desert.

I will be quiet for a few, not exactly sure how long it will take me to settle in and get back online. If I know the Army like I am sure I do, there will be a ton of bullsh*t to sort out when we arrive.

Shouldn't be too long though...worst case scenario, a week. NFL Team Captains will need to step it up in my absence.

I am joining the National Guard, my MOS is going to be the Military Police. I am joining in June and going to BT from late June to August. Then after I finish my senior year I am going to AIT. And City, yeah right. lol

Ugh, I hate MP's...as does everyone else in the Army. Unless you find yourself overseas, you have a lustrous career full of writing speeding tickets and domestic disturbances. Every military post has a max speed limit of 25 mph, EVERYWHERE YOU GO!

Where are you doing your BCT & AIT Sheed? I'm a 19K, Tanker, did my OSUT at Ft. Knox about 6 years ago.

haha, well I like the idea of being a MP because I will get to go and guard like important stuff in the US and overseas. My training and everything I guess is going to be in Maryland. Forget the name of the place.

Just an update on my status...

Our entire Brigade made it's way down here on the 6th and we are now settling in. I got sort of screwed with my housing. I live in the Philly area now and that sucks because it's a 30+ minute drive to Ft. Dix every morning & paying tolls. I live in a free apartment though and I am not too far from the arenas.

This school is being built from the ground up by myself and my unit, so there is a ton of coordinating to be done, things to fall into place, etc. This is going to be a busy @ss year for me and my fellow comrades...but the good news is I am online already, new laptop, internet, and all.

You will see more and more of me within the next few days. Once things are more to a normal schedule, I will be able to relax at the end of the days and spend time in SI.

Sheed - I am pretty sure your MP School is at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. Your basic training though is either at Ft. Jackson, SC - Ft. Knox, KY - Ft. Leonard Wood, MO - Ft. Benning, GA - or Ft. Sill, OK. Only Jackson and Leonard Wood have male and female integrated BCT. Good luck if your going to an all male BCT. LOL

Sounds nice man hope everything keeps going well! And yeah I am pretty sure my BT is in either Ft. Knox or Ft. Jackson cant remember what the Sgt. said. How was the ASVAB though when you first took it? Is it like the SAT or ACT Test?
