Just heard on ESPN, it sends Primo Brezec and Walter Hermann to the Pistons in return the Bobcats receive Nazr Muhammad

Thats utter BS. Brezec is a beast and I thought he had a future in this young franchise. I mean, he DID score the franchise's first point ever lol. And Walter Hermann is showing progress. The Pistons pwned this trade.

Dang good trade for Detroit, getting rid of Nazr who has fallen off the DC, and getting an actual C in Brezec and Walter Hermann is a pretty good player.....or at least he will be.

What's so different about this trade and the Ariza for Cook and Evans swap? The players the pistons get in return will hardly play more than 15 minutes on that team so I don't know why they suddenly "owned" this trade. They may have gotten the better side, but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be.

If you look at the skill of players, Detroit pwned Charlotte. But I don't think either will see too much playing time.

I think it'd be funny if they tried to play the guys tonight like they did a few years back in the Sheed trade then had to take them out in the second half because they forgot to fill out paperwork...

The players the pistons get in return will hardly play more than 15 minutes on that team so I don't know why they suddenly "owned" this trade. They may have gotten the better side, but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be.

Evans and Cook actually get playing time down in Orlando. Evans is playing 19.8 MPG and is one of our top subs, but Cook sucks...

AUBURN HILLS – Swinging a trade that was made with the future more than the present in mind, the Pistons on Friday sent Nazr Mohammed to Charlotte in exchange for Primoz Brezec and Walter Herrmann. To accommodate taking an extra player back, the Pistons then waived Ronald Dupree to create roster space for the two Bobcats.

Perhaps the biggest underlying reason for the trade was its salary-cap implications. Mohammed has three years left on the five-year contract he signed in July 2006. Counting what’s left of this season, that means Charlotte will assume almost $24 million of Mohammed’s contract. The Pistons, meanwhile, are taking back two players whose contracts expire after this season. Beyond that, Brezec and Herrmann combined are due to make about $1 million less for the full 2006-07 season than the approximately $5.6 million the Pistons owed Mohammed for this season.

Brezec and Herrmann, besides taking the Pistons’ quotient of international players from one to three – the Slovenian Brezec and Argentinian Herrmann join Senegal’s Cheikh Samb, who made his NBA Development League debut on Thursday, on the 15-man roster – bring more outside shooting to the Pistons than either Mohammed or Dupree offered.

The 7-foot-1 Brezec, 28, is in his seventh NBA season, having spend the first three with Indiana. He was acquired by Charlotte in the expansion draft prior to the 2004-05 season and averaged 13 points and 7.4 rebounds in what was his best statistical season. He averaged 12.4 and 5.6 the following season before plunging to 5.0 and 3.2 last year when he was plagued by illness and a back injury.

Brezec had started 18 of Charlotte’s 20 games this season under first-year coach Sam Vincent, but usually got an early hook and averaged just 13.4 minutes, 1.9 points and 2.2 rebounds a game. Brezec has been a member of the Slovenian national team since he was 15.

The 6-foot-9 Herrmann, also 28, is in his second NBA season after a distinguished career in the Spanish professional leagues. As a rookie, he played sparingly in the first half of last season but came on late and averaged 9.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 48 games. In 17 games this season, Herrmann has averaged 4.0 points and 2.1 rebounds while shooting 35 percent from the 3-point arc, from where 26 of his 65 attempts have been launched.

Mohammed has averaged 11 minutes, 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 21 Pistons games this season. In 51 games last season, he averaged 5.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 15.2 minutes. Mohammed began the season as the starter but stepped aside in January when the Pistons signed Chris Webber, who had been bought out of his contract by Philadelphia to become a free agent.

Despite playing time for Brezec and Herrmann in Detroit, this trade is certainly one sided. Mohammed cannot do much, especially not as much as Herrmann. I don't like this trade because I like the 'Cats and they got the cheap end of the deal in this one.

Thats what I mean by owned...they got the better of the trade. A ripoff for the Bobcats IMO.

Bobcats were terribly screwed in this deal but maybe MJ is cleaning CAP so he can sign a good talented FA like Earl Boykins.

Pistons trade center Nazr Mohammed for two Bobcats, cut forward Ronald Dupree

The Pistons traded center Nazr Mohammed to Charlotte on Friday and also waived forward Ronald Dupree.

The Pistons acquired center Primoz Brezec and forward Walter Herrmann in exchange for Mohammed, who appeared in every game this season except for Wednesday in Houston.

“We are pleased to welcome Primoz and Walter to the Pistons organization and we feel they will help add depth to our front court positions,” Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said. “We appreciate hard work and professionalism that Nazr and Ronald both displayed during their time here in Detroit and we wish both of them well.”

Mohammed averaged 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in 11.1 minutes a game this season, while Dupree was on the inactive list for all but two games this year.

The 7-1 Brezec started 18 of 20 games for Charlotte this season, averaging 1.9 points and 2.2 rebounds. Hermann averaged 4.0 points and 2.1 rebounds in 17 games off the bench.

There's my boy Dumars getting the job done, as much as I liked Nazr I really like this deal, we got more depth at center how wich is great. And we got two white guys in return! lol

Hermann is one of my favorite players too lol. Ask sheed lol.

Numbers dont exactly show you how good a player is, dont you think there was a reason his mins dropped? Brezec impressed everyone after his first season, but he hasnt improved since, in fact he's digressed, whenever watch a Bobcat game he's good for 2 or 3 "dumb" plays. Brezec is 2nd string material, and should do well in detroit but as a starter, he's a liability.
