The Memphis Grizzlies Rebuild Going As Planned

The Grizzlies rebuild is going just as planned.  The Grizzlies have some very good prospects that are already producing.  A well as the prospects, the Grizzlies have some very good vets.  Grizzlies GM is hoping to start competing by next season.  "We were looking to compete this season with Bledsoe as our franchise but he decided to take a shorter contract and sign with the Bulls.  As of now we don't have a clear franchise player.  But we do have a very good team.  We are hoping with the cap space we made currently that we can sign a franchise player and finally start competing.  As for this season, we will be evaluating who to keep for the next season and who we think we should move on from." said the Grizzlies GM.

The Grizz do have some very good veterans that will be key for the Grizzlies next season when they plan on competing.  "Right now we have some really good veterans.  We are giving opportunities to DJ Augustine and Crabbe and they are producing.  DJ's scoring has gone up to 22.1 ppg and Crabbe's scoring is at 18.0 ppg.  Kosta is playing solid ball off the bench as our third big.  Jae is the same defensive juggernaut we have seen from last season.  With all that being true, we still need a third go to scorer.  Jarrett is still raw offensively.  The small forward position will be the position we will look to fill with our cap space come off season"  The Grizzlies also acquired Nick Calathes from Golden State for Lonnie Walker.  "Nick Calathes is someone we have been looking at for a few years now.  He should be a good role player for us off the bench but we have a lot of guards so playing time will be hard for him here."

The Grizzlies also have some young veterans like Dennis Schroder and Nerlens Noel.  "Both Dennis and Noel are key to our success.  Noel fits well with the type of bigs we are looking to get.  Dennis looks like he will have a big year this season.  He is already putting up some good scoring albeit in limited time.  Rozier is having a decent year but will probably see less time than last year since Dennis looks to be outperforming him."

The fun part about this team is their prospects.  The Grizzlies have some serious prospects.  Jarrett Allen has become a top defensive big.  Bamba has become a very good big also.  Sexton is looking like he can be a very good scoring guard in the near future.  Coby White has looked decent in his first year but the Grizzlies will give him his time to fully develop.  We hope Bol Bol can get better through the G League.  He will also be given time to develop like Coby White.  "We have a good mix of veterans and prospects.  Like mentioned before, the next step is to find a franchise player or an above average small forward and we feel we can compete.  We also have our draft picks and more so don't be surprised if we add some more prospects to the roster in the next few years." said Grizzlies GM.

The Grizzlies GM believes the Grizzlies are headed in the correct direction.  Can they get that final piece to finally start competing again?  We won't know this year but the process seems to be a very exciting one for Grizzlies fans.
